Allergy sensitivity in Americans has DOUBLED in the last 30 years. In an article for USA TODAY, Elizabeth Weise reports:

"More than half of all Americans test positive in response to one or more allergens, double the percentage who did 30 years ago, a new study reports.
Researchers at the National Institutes of Health found that 54% of people tested positive to at least one of 10 allergens. The highest response was to dust mites, 27.5%. The lowest was to peanuts, 8.6%.

The findings appear in the August issue of the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.
About 20% of U.S. residents have allergies or hay fever; 8% to 10% have asthma

The doubling of the prevalence of the six allergens tested in an earlier survey corresponds to a period during which there also was a 74% increase in asthma. Though there is evidence asthma rates have peaked, allergy rates appear to still be increasing. The testing was part of CDC's third National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey from 1988 to 1994 and is considered the most complete national data available to scientists. The previous survey was from 1976 to 1980.

Researchers don't know why positive skin tests, allergy and asthma are increasing. One theory is that people simply don't go outside as often- Americans spend an estimated 90% of their time indoors- and have higher exposures to indoor allergens. Another theory is that children become more vulnerable when they are exposed to fewer bacteria and viruses. Some researchers believe that has an effect on the developing immune system." Allergies aren't the only thing on the rise. According to the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, more than 20 million Americans suffer from asthma. Some additional statistics on asthma:

* Nine million U.S. children under 18 have been diagnosed with asthma.

* More than four million children have had an asthma attack in the previous year.

* More than 70% of people with asthma also suffer from allergies.

* 10 million Americans suffer specifically from allergic asthma.

* The prevalence of asthma increased 75% from 1980-1994.

* Asthma rates in children under the age of five have increased more than 160% from 1980-1994.

* In 2003, there were 12.7 million physician office visits and 1.2 million outpatient department visits due to asthma.

* There were 1.9 million asthma-related visits to emergency departments in 2002.

* There are approximately 5,000 deaths from asthma annually.

* Direct health care costs for asthma in the United States total more than $11.5 billion annually; indirect costs (lost productivity) add another $4.6 billion for a total of $16.1 billion. Prescription drugs represented the largest single direct medical expenditure, over $5 billion.

* 12.8 million school days are missed annually due to asthma.

* The value of reduced productivity due to death represented the largest single indirect cost related to asthma, approaching $1.7 billion.

* Asthma accounts for approximately 24.5 million missed work days for adults annually.

* Asthma prevalence is 39% higher in African Americans than in whites.

* The prevalence of asthma in adult females was 35% greater than the rate in males, in 2003.

* Approximately 40% of children who have asthmatic parents will develop asthma.

Additionally, many people must work in environments where they are exposed to dust, pollen, smoke, and other particulates. If your job requires you to breathe these materials, you will love the effect the original Oxy-Gen formula will have on your breathing. Within a week, you will see a marked improvement in your breathing, with a very noticeable reduction in coughs and wheezing. You'll also see your endurance increase and you will feel less fatigued at the end of the day.

Oxy-Gen truly excels where asthma and allergies that restrict respiration are a problem. The natural ingredients in all Oxy-Gen capsules are especially effective in improving impaired respiration, whether from allergies or minor damage to the cells of the lungs. The reason for this is that Oxy-Gen helps replace damaged cells with healthy new cells. The cells in the respiratory system are warm, moist and receive filtered air, which are optimum conditions for new cell growth and regeneration. Since most human ailments (other than degenerative diseases) start in the respiratory system, Oxy-Gen improves overall heath and stamina in people suffering from asthma and allergies.

While there is no cure for asthma, Oxy-Gen will ease breathing problems and improve respiration, and it works safely, naturally, and without steroids or potentially dangerous drugs. Click here to see Dr. McEowen’s personal experience.
